House Ordos Project Blog – Mission 6

Greetings fans of the Executrix!

Apologies that it’s been so long since the last hobby update on this project, but much has been happening recently in my world! We had Bad Decisions II a few weeks ago, and we also found out that mini-me is on the way, due in March! So I’ve been very excited in many many ways! The baby news has given me more impetus to get this project over the line (as I am assuming that the majority of my hobby time will evaporate in March), so lets get to it!

This segment had me building the very cool Armiger Helverins – who I have to say in the playtesting I’ve done have been rather impressive on the table!

As I had built the Warglaives before, I had a good idea of what it was that I wanted to do with them. My plan as before, was to build the legs, the torso, and both weapon arms, and have these bits as the magnetisable pieces to the model.

This time I wanted a more “flush” fit to the legs – so I attached the larger magnet directly to the base of the torso:

Then as before, I built “houses” for the magnet components within the arm sockets:

If you can see in the video here, I definitely feel that I achieved a much more “flush” fit than with the Warglaives, as the body snapped really nicely to the legs:

So, excitingly, that’s all of the knights now built! They even got a run out recently in some practice games:

And even unpainted I’m loving their look on the table!

Next up, I’m getting stuck into building some Van Saar infantry to accompany the Knights of House Ordos!
